Hello friends.
So reality has officially reared its ugly head and I find myself thinking: "Wow. This summer actually happened." It's hard to believe. It's also hard to believe it's been over a month since we got back to The Big Smoke.
I'm already nostalgic, so I've been flipping through a lot of the photos we took over the course of our journey. Today I was looking through them and I thought, "Shit son-- I gotta post some of these!"
It's a little overwhelming to think about getting all of my favourites up here (I managed to whittle my collection down to a 'manageable' 1500 from the 2000 I originally had), so I've decided I will post one or two per day, unedited and in no particular order. Keeps it fresh, ya know?
Hopefully this will keep you entertained and still interested while we continue to edit the mass amounts of video footage on our hard drive.
So here we go:
Today's photo was taken in B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L Victoria, BC. I believe this place used to be a nunnery. There were great big cedar trees all around the edges of the lawn and the sun was shining in that perfect dusky way. Wonderful.
In other totally random news, I found a really great quote today that I wanted to share with everybody I saw, so I'll share it with you here:
"What if a demon were to creep after you one night, in your loneliest loneliness and say 'this life which you live must be lived by you once again and innumerable times more; and every pain and joy and thought and sigh must come again to you, all in the same sequence. The eternal hourglass will again and again be turned and you with it, dust of the dust!' Would you throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse that demon? Or would you answer 'never have I heard anything more divine?'"
- Friedrich Nietzsche
